Welcome. I started my working life – after a history of art and psychology degree – in arts administration and publishing. Then I moved into journalism: starting in the arts and design press, then the sphere still collectively known as ‘Fleet Street’: the Independent, the Guardian, the Daily Telegraph, the Sunday Times, the Times, the Observer, the Express and more. I kept my core interests in arts, design, architecture, property and travel alive by working for specialist magazines from Creative Review and Design Week to Homes and Gardens, BBC Homes & Antiques and Elle Decoration, as well as many newspaper supplements.
Moving between writing and editing, I gained section editorships across magazines and papers, including the Financial Times’ Business magazine and Independent on Sunday, and wrote and contributed to books, and running workshops at universities – most notably, Falmouth University – as well as holding talks and chairing meetings.

As opportunities arose, I introduced copywriting to my workload as well as journalism. I’ve since written copy for all manner of organisations from Tate to Plan International, and numerous companies through contract publishers, from Barclays’ Wealth to London Business School and Goodwood.
I still write about all my core subjects and work as a journalist and writer with a versatile reach. I edit a hyperlocal paper in my area of London, called EC1 Echo, and do business writing as well as lecturing and editing, brand work and from time to time, public relations and public speaking.
I’m interested in hearing from new clients however small or large the task, so do get in touch or view some of my featured work.
